The conference on ON Power´s Geothermal Park, “Energy, Resources, and Innovation”, held at Gróska this week, was a great success.
At the event, Helga Kristín Jóhannsdóttir, Business Development Manager of the Geothermal Park, spoke about the opportunities that lie within the park and introduced plans for a new geothermal lagoon to be located there.

Representatives from two of our partner companies in the park — Kristinn Hafliðason, CEO of VAXA Technology, and Sara Lind Guðbergsdóttir, Managing Director of Climeworks Iceland — shared the stories of their companies, both of which have experienced remarkable growth since first establishing operations in the Geothermal Park.

Snorri Jökull Egilsson, Environmental and Climate Specialist at Orkuveita Reykjavíkur, explained the natural resource cycle on the heath. In addition, Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Minister of Higher Education, Industry, and Innovation, delivered an inspiring opening address, and Sævar Freyr Þráinsson, CEO of Orkuveita Reykjavíkur, gave the closing remarks, thanking guests and speakers for their participation.

Located at Hellisheiði, ON’s Geothermal Park is home to a unique community of forward-thinking companies creating value through the responsible use of local resources. The park offers countless opportunities and fosters a circular ecosystem where partners share infrastructure, knowledge, and resources to minimize waste and maximize benefits for businesses, society, and nature.
We actively support innovation connected to geothermal energy — the planned geothermal lagoon being a prime example — thereby accelerating the development of green technological solutions. Together, we work toward the responsible utilization of the region’s resources.
