ON Power is constructing a new building within the Geothermal Park at the Hellisheiði Power Plant, dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. This space will bring together startups, entrepreneurs, and researchers working on the sustainable solutions of the future.
We are now searching for a name that captures the spirit of the building — innovation, sustainability, and cooperation — and a naming competition is currently open for everyone to participate.
Within the Geothermal Park, companies have access to geothermal resources, renewable energy, and land for development. The park has fostered a vibrant community of forward-thinking companies that emphasize sustainability, circular thinking, and the responsible use of natural resources.
Prizes for the winning name proposal:
- A gift voucher for two people – one night at the ION Adventure Hotel at Nesjavellir
- One pair of ON Cloud shoes
- Two tickets to ON Power’s Geothermal Exhibition at the Hellisheiði Power Plant
- Two entries to the ON Hengill Trail Run – July 10
The judging panel for the naming competition includes:
- Ásta Sóllilja Guðmundsdóttir, CEO of KLAK – Icelandic Startups
- Silja Bára R. Ómarsdóttir, Incoming Rector of the University of Iceland
- Þór Sigfússon, Founder and Chairman of the Iceland Ocean Cluster
- Ingunn Gunnarsdóttir, Head of Innovation at ON Power
The submission deadline is June 1st!
